Unblocking sewers, French drains, storm drains and gutters

We unblock and clean outdoor sewer networks, connecting pipes between manholes, French drains, rainwater collection systems and concrete or metal gutters. The main tool is a 160 bar high-pressure pump delivering 100 litres per minute, used with nozzles matched to each type of deposit.

The difference between proper unblocking and a superficial job is what stays on the pipe wall. An auger can punch through the plug and water flows for a few days, but the grease and sludge layer remains and rebuilds. High-pressure jetting washes the full circumference of the pipe and pushes the material to the manhole, where it can be extracted, restoring the pipe close to its original diameter.

We also clean perimeter drains, which clog with fine sand and roots, and gutters and storm inlets, which in Bacau county frequently block with leaves, soil and gravel after heavy rain.

Common causes of blockages and how to prevent them

Grease is the most common cause. It builds up layer by layer on the pipe wall, hardens and narrows the bore until any paper or food waste forms a plug. Second come wet wipes and textiles, which do not break down and collect at bends. Then roots, entering through the joints of old concrete or ceramic pipes, and sand carried in by rainwater.

Prevention means periodic jetting rather than waiting for a blockage. For restaurants and guesthouses we recommend jetting every 3-6 months. For households, an annual wash of the main pipe and manholes is enough in most cases and costs far less than an emergency call-out plus repairs after a backflow.
